Multiplex System - Model M18 (18 Power Outputs)

ECX provides solid state multiplex controllers that are engineered to provide excellent benefits in a number of different industries. These controls are utilized in emergency services, industrial vehicles, and in commercial buildings.

Benefits of a multiplex system:

Reduce the overall cost and installation time of your electrical system
Allow for greater customization and ehanced communication between devices
Minimize the space and weight of your electrical system

Outputs can be activated as a result of different combination of inputs. This logic is programmed by the customer with the easy to use software developed by ECX (Model ECX-PGM) or it can be factory programmed by ECX with a customer supplied operational description.

The optional built-in 3.5” touch screen display can be programmed to show diagnostic screens (the ON/OFF status of input signals, power outputs, calibration of analog and temperature inputs).

M18 Module Description

General technical characteristics:

● All outputs are rated at 20A and can be customized to operate at 12V or GND
● All outputs can be programmed for PWM operation
● Standard configuration is 14 Solid State Outputs(+12V at 20A) (with customer programmable overcurrent protection)
● Standard configuration is 4 Solid State Outputs (+12V or GND at 20A) (with customer programmable overcurrent protection
● 16 Digital Inputs (12V or GND activated)
● 7 Analog Inputs (0 to +12V )
● Industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C)
● Reverse polarity, over voltage and load dump protection
● Low key-off current drain
● Low input current requirement for digital signals (under 10mA)
● Large design safety factors for reliable operation
● Simple plug-in connection of all control and power wiring
● 2 Independent CAN Busses

○ The first CAN Bus is used for connecting to the vehicle's CAN highway.
○The second CAN Bus is used for data communications between the control system and individual peripherals (graphic screens, smart switches, etc.)
○ 9VDC, 700mA supply to customer's electronic instruments.

Some of the typical operational functions include:

● Logic functions relating inputs and outputs
● Pulse width modulation (PWM) on any output
● Implementation of any number of flashing patterns with multiple flashing schemes (limited only by the number of outputs available)
● Load management and load sequencing operations
● Engine throttle control
● Implementation of logic functions based on information derived from the vehicle's CAN Bus
● Implementation of time delayed operations
● Dimming of lights
● Complete HVAC control
● Interaction with graphic panels for display information and control signals
● Oxygen pressure monitoring and alarm
● Open door indication and alarm

Other Technical Characteristics
