Description of Operation:
1. General
This unit incorporates a Time-of Day clock, and two elapsed time indicators or timers: a) Down Timer and b) Up Timer
2. Operation
After the initial startup logo, the following image appears on the screen (Figure 1)

Figure 1
This screen shows the time-of day and two buttons: The right button corresponds to the a)“Up timer” or elapsed time counter while the left button correstponds to the b)“Down Timer” or time remaining to an event.
3. Down Timer
Pressing the button corresponding to the Down Timer (left button in Figure 1) the display changes to a screen that shows the status of this timer. If this is the first time this screen is accessed, it will show the image indicated in Figure 2

Figure 2
Here it is seen that the Down Timer is stopped and indicates an initial value of “00:00”
To set a starting time from which to count down to zero, press the button under the icon labeled “Change Value” and the screen will change to that shown in Figure 3

Figure 3
Using the buttons near the “Add” or “Dec” icons, change the value of the inicial time count in increments of 30 seconds (up to a maximum of 90 minutes)
If it is desirable to adjust the time in increments larger than 30 seconds, press the button under the icon “Change Add/Dec value” and the additional incremental values available will be 1, 2, 5 and 10 minutes (pressing the “ESC” button will cancel any changes made and return to the initial screen)
To save the new inicial time count, press “Save New Value” and the following screen will appear on the display (Figure 4)

Figure 4
The “Start” icon is now visible and when pressed the count down starts, as shown in Figure 5 (in this example the inicial value set is 27:30)

Figure 5
A new icon now appears on the lower-left section of the screen indicating that the timer is now in operation. This is also indicated by the presence of the word “running” on the display.
The count-down sequence can be paused by pressing the button “Stop”, as illustrated in Figure 6

Figure 6
To resume the timing sequence press the button “Start”
If the timer is in operation and we press “Esc”, the unit returns to the inicial screen shown in Figure 7

Figure 7
This screen is similar to the inicial system screen, except that it now shows an additional Icon indicating that the Down Timer is in operation in the background.
Under these conditions, when the timer reaches the end of the count (0:00) a built-in alarm will sound for 2 seconds to alert the operator to this event.
At the same time, the external alarm output will be activated (+12VDC) during 5 seconds for external signaling devices to operate.
4. Up Timer
Pressing the lower-right button on the inicial screen we enter the Up Timer screen shown in Figure 8
If this screen is being accessed for the first time, the following will appear on the display:

Figure 8
The “Run To” value shown indicates the desired upper limit of the count. To change it press the "Change Value” button and the following screen will appear (Figure 9)

Figure 9
While on this screen, change the “Hour” value of the final count (0 to 99 hours) or the “Minutes” value of the same (Figure 10) by pressing the “Up” or “Down” arrows
Figure 10

To save the set value press “Save New Value” and the display will change to that shown in Figure 11
Figure 11
The “Run To” value is the final count desired. Pressing “Start” will initiate the up-count and show the screen indicated in Figure 12:
Figure 12
Pressing “Stop” will initiate a pause in the count, as shown in Figure 13:

Figure 13
The up timing sequence can be resumed (pressing “Start”) or halted (pressing “Clear”). At the end of the count, the screen will look as shown in Figure 14:

Figure 14
As seen in Figures 11, 12, 13 and 14, the button “Change Value” is always displayed on the screen. This allows the user to change the value of the final count at any time in the sequence.
Changing the value of the final count during the up counter operation will not affect the value of the current count.
Pressing the “Esc” button will take the unit to the initial screen, this time showing an icon that indicates the Up Timer is running in the background, as shown in Figure 15

Figure 15
When the Up Counter reaches its final count, the built-in alarm will sound and the external alarm output will be activated (+12VDC) for 5 seconds.
Both, the Up and Down timers can operate simultaneously. This example is shown in Figure 16 where the corresponding icons are displayed to indicate the background operation of both timers.

Figure 17
This will change the display to the screen shown in Figure 18

Figure 18
Pressing the “Up” or “Down” buttons change the value that is blinking. Press “Set Minutes” to make the minutes blink and press “Set Hours” to make the hours blink.
When the correct time is shown, press “Enter” to save the value programmed and return to the main screen.
